BGC and Movember: Twenty Years Since the World Stood Still

16-Sep-2021

Partnering with Movember, the Gould Barbers team set up for the day in the BGC Canary Wharf Headquarters for the annual BGC Charity Day. The event set to memorialise 20 years since the tragic events at the World Trade Centre on September 11th, 2001 and to raise millions in memory of those who never came home that day. Our mission was to deliver professional haircuts supporting BGC alongside Movember; a charity dedicated to bringing awareness to the importance of men’s health.

Our team delivered our usual quality haircuts to those supporting the event on the day whilst conversing with all that stopped by; the event evoked conversations surrounding the day that the world stood still two decades ago. Throughout the event, many familiar faces visited our pop-up barber shop, including television presenter Davina McCall, comedian and author David Walliams and former England footballer, Sir Trevor Brooking!

Movember are a community dedicated to changing the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and the prevention of suicide. Working alongside Movember, we aim to help men everywhere by creating more opportunities and outlets to normalise men talking about their mental health with Cuts and Conversations. Whether it’s a friend in need, a colleague who’s not coping or a family member who doesn’t seem himself, Movember are dedicated to making a difference in the quality of conversations that are had - it could save lives.
